Decking the Halls

Hey guys! Here at Inspire, I have been a busy little elf decking these halls. I decorated the windows and the stove early last week! Here are some pics!

We also held our Christmas Configurations class last week. It was fun and I think it was very much a success. The ladies did an awesome job and all of their projects came out FABulous. I was able to snag just a few photos.

Lots of Christmas spirit floating around this place. I will be back much later tonite with the post for the December calendar and details about the 12 Days of Christmas Sale and Tacky Christmas Event. I will also be sending the e-mail tonite so keep your eyes peeled. You guys HAVE TO sign up for this event. It is the only thing that we are doing this month because of wedding madness so you MUST SIGN UP. C'mon I wanna spend some holiday time with my peeps!

Personal Update:
Shane and I have been moving into our apartment since Thanksgiving Day. (No, no house for those of you that haven't heard. Long story, the short version is that the house was not the will of God) The move has been very stressful, draining, and overwhelming. The good news is the move is over and it has been followed by pure bliss. It feels so good to have a home and know where I will lay my head at night. It also feels great to pretty much be settled in and even have my tree up. Most of you have already asked and, yes, I will be sharing pics of the apartment soon. There is still lots to do decorating wise but we are getting there.

It's 5 days and counting until the wedding and I am super excited, scared to death, but excited. :) I can't wait to share pics and details soon!

Be back to post later! Love you guys!
Happy Monday!

10 things I love (better late than never)

What's up guys? I figured it was about time for one of these posts. I needed to take a break from wedding madness and store stuff to just do a little internet browsing for some inspiration. Here are 10 things that I dig!

Number 1!
Elsie's new wedding blog. It is filled with great ideas and inspiration for totally personal and crafty weddings. I wish she would have started this a year ago.

Go check it out!

Number 2!
Vintage Pyrex. I love pyrex. I have a very small collection right now but I am hoping to expand. I have decided to bring my scrapbooking supplies back to the new house and set up a studio there. Vera warned me that it wasn't a good idea to keep it at the store but I thought I'd try it out. Well, it's not a good idea, just because I am always here and when I want to get creative it needs to be done in a different environment, without a million distractions. So, back to the pyrex, I want to use lots of Pyrex in my studio to store my supplies. I think it would be a cute touch.

Number 3!
This layout. I love it! It is simple, spaced out, and just perfect.

Number 4!
This set-up for a wedding. I love all of the multi-colored metal chairs. I wanted to do something like this for ours with all kinds of different vintage chairs but I ran out of the funds and energy to put this together. He He!

Number 5!
These great plaid sheets from Anthropologie. I love plaid and I love great sheets. I think these need to be ordered for the Burke home!

Number 6!
This precious photo! This will be Shane Michael and I in a few weeks, except there will be ice skates on our feet and a huge, ginormous, beautiful Christmas tree in the background. I hope we are dressed just as cute though!

Number 7!
This precious pink Christmas journal. I love it!

Number 8!
These precious pics from my favorite era!

Love this one! I'm sure this is how I will look in the kitchen. Sooooo confused!

This great photo of couples window shopping for furniture. Love how the ladies are all lit up swooning over the fabulous yellow furniture. Love how the husband in the middle looks scared to death. This is me and Shane right now. I am swooning over everything for a house and Shane is like a deer in headlights everytime I show him something new!

Number 9!
This precious little display. I think I will do something like this in the house!

Number 10!
These photos of Christmas decorations. I am hoping to take some time to decorate the windows and stove in the store this weekend. I don't know what I want to do yet. I know it won't be as dramatic as I would like just because we have so much going on but I am going to do my best! Here is some great inspiration though!

There ya go. A few little things that I am digging today.

So many people have been asking for updates about what's going on with me and everything else so here ya go.

The house: we are supposed to close tomorrow. We have some painting to do so that will probably take about a week. That should put us moving in the week of the wedding. I know I am going to have to chill out and realize that the house will not be like I want it for a while. When we get back from our honeymoon, we will work on getting furniture and different things to decorate the house. I am just a person who does not move in until the last picture is hung on the walls but God is teaching me to have patience and this is just another little test in this lesson that I have been learning. I have so many little ideas and I just hope they all fall into place.

The wedding: The wedding is pretty much 2 weeks away. I have tons left to do and I have had to cut a lot of the little crafty, personal things out just becuase I have run out of money and energy. HOwever, I think that it will be beautiful and a night that I will never forget. I am nervous and scared to death. I am elated and thrilled. I am just ready to start the next chapter.

So, those are the updates of everything going on. I hope that you guys stop by the store soon. I hope to be back by the beginning of next week with photos of the classes for Tacky Christmas and I hope you start calling and e-mailing to sign up!

Thanks for your constant support and love. I dig you!

Prepare Yourself for our Tacky Christmas Event!

Hello peeps! I am excited to give you a heads up about our Tacky Christmas Event! I am excited about this event for a few reasons. Reason 1: The wedding will be OVER and I will get to put all my energy and attention into this glorious business. Reason 2: It involves Christmas! Reason 3: There will be great things happening here!

Okay so when is this little event you ask! The Tacky Christmas Event will be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 17-19! Oh yes, three days of scrapbooking and Christmas goodness. We will have cropping from Friday 11am-2am Saturday, Saturday 10am-2am Sunday, and Sunday 10am-6pm. Cropping will be free if you sign up for the whole weekend. If not, it will be $10 a day!

We will have an ornament exchange on Saturday @ 3. This is open to the first 12 people who sign up. We already have 6 people on our list. So, hurry! The way the ornament exchange works is everyone makes 12 ornaments any way that you like and you give each person an ornament that you created. In return, you will receive an ornament from each person. So, you leave with 12 unique and hand-crafted ornaments. Let me just tell you, I did this at Scrapalicious last year and I loooooooooove all of the ornaments that I went home with. I put them all on my tree and even hung a couple on doors in my apartment!

We will also be having 2 bomb diggity classes that weekend. I will be teaching a class on Friday @ 7. In my class, you will get to use those pictures with Santa that I know you all have. I definately have them and I'm screaming my head off in all of them. On Saturday, Vera will be teaching a class that I know you all will love. You will be learning how to make 12 different little projects that you can easily re-create to use for your Christmas needs. You will be learning how to make things from tags and cards to cute little decor items. Her class will take place @ 5 on Saturday.

Throughout the entire event, you should definately come in your tackiest Christmas attire, of course. That's where the tacky comes in. Each day, the tackiest person gets a nice little goodie bag. Also, there will be lots of giveaways, challenges, snacks, and drinks. The store may even have a little touch of tacky too!

I really hope lots of you can join us for this event! I will be back later with details about classes and prices and all of that goodness. I just wanted to let you know about it so that, if you know for sure that you want to take part, you can sign up now!!

This would be a great way for you to take some time for yourself before the holiday. It would also be a great time to work on handmade gifts/cards or past Christmas layouts! I can't wait for this event and I hope you feel the same.

You can call (985-227-9970) or e-mail (inspirescrapboutique@gmail.com) the store to sign up!!

Let's get festively tacky ladies, c'mon!

New Stuff!!

Hey ya'll! Well, I have returned from Houston and it was a blast. If you know me at all, you know that I am very self conscious so you can imagine how uncomfortable taking bridals could be. However, once again, I looooooove my photographer and he made it all so awesome. I just saw the pictures and I could have cried if I would have let myself. He exceeded my expectations times 100 and I am so happy. Now, I have to decide which ones I want.

We got some new stuff in while I was gone. We received some rub-ons and embellishments from Studio Calico. Here's what we got!

We re-stocked the mists:

We got these rub ons:

These stamps:

These wood veneer embellishments. These are cooler than I expected. They are made of like a really thin wood! So cool!I thought they would just be made to look like wood!

Oh and these:

Love it all! Come and get some!

Also, I just placed a little Christmas order with Pretty Little Studio and I can't WAIT to get the stuff in!! You will love it all! Here's just a peek!

I will let you know when that stuff comes in for sure!!

We still have lots of spots open in the layout madness holiday class this saturday with vera and also the Christmas configurations class next sunday with me!! You needa call or email to sign up ASAP!! Scroll down to see pics of those classes!

Hope to see you all soon!
